Starting now, you can begin a brand new journey towards a more positive path for yourself – one that’s filled with growth, well being, acceptance, and empowerment.
Those aren’t just buzzwords or some kind of unattainable dream – you can start down that path today.
Welcome! My name is Marsha McDonald and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of New York. I received my undergraduate degree from York College and my graduate degrees in Social Work and Childhood Special Education from Adelphi University.
I knew in my early teens I wanted to service others after witnessing how quickly things can alter in one’s life due to circumstances beyond their control. The dynamics of a family can change in an instant when dealing with grief and loss.
Life challenges can leave you feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally scarred. With support from friends and family and understanding the power of compassion and empathy, I have learned how vital these factors play into a person’s journey towards healing. These early experiences have allowed me to connect with a diverse range of people and led me to the profession I am in today.
Witnessing and experiencing healthy relationships where people genuinely accept you without judgement is a remarkable feeling. I am deeply inspired by people’s inner strength and their capacity to overcome life obstacles.
In my private practice, I want to provide a safe place for women to be heard, valued, and supported. Being a therapist allows me to center my engagements and conversations around empathy and compassion, while keeping my clients accountable, empowered, and inspired to live a well-balanced, authentic life.
I am proud to be apart of a profession that is becoming less stigmatized and accessible to a wide range of women. Women now have a safe space to address their trauma, interrelationships, mental health, and promote healing. I am honored to be apart of this evolution and ready to make everlasting changes in this community
